Official Rules and Regulations for the BBQ Recipe Submission Contest

CONTEST DESCRIPTION: The Sting-Kill® “BBQ Recipe Submission Contest” (“Contest”) starts at 12:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on May 15, 2010, and ends 12:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on August 12, 2010. This Contest is one that judges culinary talent, technique and creativity in creating a mouth-watering barbecue dish. Entrants are asked to submit an original barbecue recipe or technique and complete an Entry Form online. Malcom Reed, a member of the Killer Hogs BBQ team, will select the winner on or near August 15, 2010.
ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., 18 years of age or older. Employees, and their immediate families and household members, of Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, advertising and promotion agencies, and anyone involved in the production, development or handling of this Contest are not eligible.
HOW TO ENTER:
Online Entry: Log on to www.beesandbbq.com during the entry period and click on the “Contest” link on the homepage to submit your entry. You have to register at the website before you can enter the Contest. Registration is free. Be sure to fill out all required (*) information, including: Email Address, Username, First Name, Last Name, Location and Occupation. Once your account is created and you have submitted this information you will enter your original recipe or BBQ technique in the required fields. These include Recipe Type (appetizer, side dish, main dish, dessert), your Recipe Name, Interesting facts about the recipe (1000 character limit), Recipe Ingredients, including the main ingredient (one ingredient per line), and Steps (use recommended syntax and include preparation and cooking). If you would like you may upload a photo of your recipe or a video of you cooking the recipe or using your technique, but these will not be considered in the judging. All entries must be in English. Once all required fields are filled out, submit your original recipe by clicking the “Submit “ button. You are allowed to submit up to three (3) entries per household for the duration of the contest, but each entry is separate and each recipe/technique must be different.
By entering, you grant Sponsor and its agents the irrevocable and perpetual nonexclusive right to use your name/address (city/state), photo and submissions in all media worldwide, without additional consideration. You also agree that your name/address (city/state) and submissions may be posted on the Contest website. Submissions must be your original work, may not have been published previously, must not infringe third-party rights, and must be suitable for publication, as determined solely by Sponsor. By entering you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of judges which are final
All entries for this contest become the property of the Sponsor, however the original recipe/technique is still considered your recipe.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: The Grand Prize winner will be notified by email on or about August 15, 2010 and may be required to sign, notarize and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release/Publicity Release within 10 days of notification. If winner is a minor in his state of residence, these forms must be signed by parent or legal guardian. Any failure to properly return these forms will immediately result in disqualification and selection of a new winner. A prize or the notification of the prize being returned as undeliverable will lead to that participant being disqualified from the contest and awarding the prize to a new winner.
PRIZE:
Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize of an Ole Hickory Pits Commercial BBQ Smoker. The total Approximate Retail Value of the Grand Prize is $5,000.
Prize is non-transferable and no cash redemption or substitution for the prize is allowed. Any state, federal or local taxes are the responsibility of the winner. In the event prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor reserves right to award a substitute of equal or greater value. Allow 4-6 weeks for receipt of prize.
Contest materials void if not legible or completed in full, if not obtained legitimately, or if forged, reproduced, duplicated, mutilated or tampered with. No responsibility is assumed for any late, lost, or misrouted submissions or errors in transmission or any disruptions to Internet connection, injuries, losses, or damages caused by participation or events beyond control of Sponsor. If for any reason contest is incapable of running as planned or any cause corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, Sponsor has the right, in its sole discretion, to modify and/or cancel the contest.
JUDGING: The top ten (10) recipes/techniques will be selected by a panel of judges based equally on the following criteria: creativity and originality of recipe/technique, appeal of the Interesting Facts about your recipe/technique, and how well you explain the preparation and cooking steps of your recipe/technique. Malcom Reed of the Killer Hogs Barbecue Team will judge the top ten recipes/techniques by cooking each recipe and/or performing the techniques to determine the entrant whose recipe/technique is the most appealing and delicious.
